This project lends itself nicely to the non-domestic RHI scheme and the proprietor has replaced his existing oil fired central heating system with a wood pellet biomass boiler which now serves the three properties.

cottages, all four properties were originally heated by oil, and due to the costs involved in heating the properties, the proprietor researched other options that were available. Once a decision was made regarding the most appropriate biomass system available for his set up, he approached Ben Wilde Plumbing & Heating to Install the system.

Mabie House Hotel, a fourteen bedroom hotel, with bar and two function rooms. The property was originally heated by two 32-50 kW oil boilers and two 25kW LPG boilers. The approximate annual fuel bill to heat the property was in the region of £15,000, due to the
cost to heat the building and ageing heating equipment the hotelier decided it was time to source an alternative method of heating.

The proprietor did not want to install a fossil fuel based heating system and having considered the renewable options available he decided upon a biomass boiler to provide his heating and hot water

This case study is a four bedroom traditional sandstone private
domestic property. The property was originally heated by a 25kW
oil combi-boiler and cooking only oil Aga. These two oil appliances
cost approximately £4,000 per year to run, due to the cost of heating the property, the proprietor decided it was time to switch to Biomass and the pellet boiler was the natural choice as
this requires minimal end user input - ensure pellets are ordered and emptying of the ash bin when required.
